Notice: Playing football this fall is back on the table. Once again CHSAA and the Governor’s Covid Task Force are working on protocols that may allow us to play football this fall. With this decision forthcoming, hopefully tomorrow or Wednesday, we will not have trap shooting practice this week. If CHSAA and the Governor's office, and our local school board approve football this fall we will move our trap league to the spring as it has been in the past. We will begin football practice next Monday the 21st of September for both junior high and high school.

Welcome back to the families of Pawnee School! We are all looking forward to a great year! This has been one of the most interesting times we have had for our school, community, and as a Nation. Some of us have not seen each other in person since last March when the pandemic changed so many things for us all. We hope this summer has been both refreshing and productive for all of you, and some of your life has gotten back to normal! Summer staff have been working hard up at the school to prepare for the new academic year by cleaning, ordering supplies, and doing routine summer repairs. We are excited about some of the safety improvements made to your school so we can resume in-person learning. We will be following the calendar published last April with a couple minor modifications. Please see our website or Pawnee App for the latest updates regarding starting school; including relaxation of current COVID rules as some of them are set to expire soon. The board makes the final decisions regarding how these rules affect the district. I know the one many of you are watching is the mask order. If you have a high school student and would like to review or change their schedule, plan on stopping by and spending some time with me in the afternoon of August 13th. You can also call the office and make an appointment for an earlier day. Schedule changes are also possible the first week of class. Screening for symptoms of COVID should start at home. This will help the district keep all the students and staff safe and keep us in school. If your student is sick for any reason, please keep them at home. At this time “Back to School Night” will be postponed due to restrictions and complications in staying in compliance with the current COVID rules. We plan to have a back to school celebration once some of the restrictions are lifted and we can all really enjoy the evening! Thanks, Bret Robinson, Supt.

The Pawnee School District would like to express sincere thanks to Kory Fenton from Leeward Renewable Energy, with facilitation from Board President Kevin Hahn, for the donation of 9 Dell Chromebooks. This made it possible for the online portion of the district at-home learning program to be extended to the 5th and 6th grades. THANK YOU!
